kinetic book, single edition

paper, transparencies, whistle bird, eggshells, broken glass, wire, chopin

~fall, 2006

too late, too late the bird did call
and from his sparkled palace fall

soon stitched then glued upon his perch
and spinning in an endless search

the notes he sees and sings aloud
but stuck beneath a paper cloud

piano in b minor flat
his nocturne always staring at

he sings and spins within his cage
and with no hands to turn the page-

stuck within a paper book
with five clear sides for all to look

from eggshells broken glass and all
he finds himself still within walls

but when the music takes refrain
we know that he shall hatch again
